Rotate Text in a Table Cell

Rotating text inside a table cell is easy, but not exactly how you might think. I searched and searched (right-clicking, double-clicking, text formatting, etc.) for a way to rotate text inside a table cell but nothing turned up. That is until I asked a coworker.

All you have to do is click once inside a table cell, click the properties button (looks like this in AutoCAD 2008), and go to the Properties and change the text rotation.

Simple! I think it’s strange that there is no text rotation inside the text formatting toolbar or right-click. You can’t even get to properties by right-clicking in a table cell.

If you double-click in a cell, you get the text formatting toolbar, but no ability to rotate text.

Maybe Autodesk will make this more obvious in future versions of AutoCAD.

Do you know of a way to copy text using a formula within an Autocad Table? I am trying to set up a table that I can reference text to fields throughout the drawing but can’t find a simple “copy text in cell” type formula or command.

I wish AutoCAD had something like that too. I can’t think of a way to make it happen right now.
