I have done some fair sized files, pdf's in the 25 to 30 MB size range done from dwg files in the same size range, most of the bigger ones were 3D using the "Realistic" view. I've done a bunch from CAD overlays on aerial photos which run upwards of 100 MB before adding the CAD overlay which can run another 10 to 30 MB. Most of the overlays have been used in presentations for approval of major construction projects. So far I have been extremely satisfied with it. We also use "BlueBeam" to do "Batch" pdf conversions and to put together bid packages, with documents from differing sources, Word, Excel, CAD, etc. This is an excellent package. With the AutoCAD plugin, it runs about $250, and has saved us much more than that in a single project. (I have used several pdf's generated with CutePDF when making up some of these packages.) Except for the popups, I have found PDF995 to do a pretty good job as well. There are quite a few free versions avaliable, I have tried a few others, but settled in on CutePDF and PDF995 for use away from the machine with BlueBeam and at home. I've also had problems with the built in pdf printer in AutoCAD. The solution I have found and been very happy with is PDFCreator. Also free and no popups.
