Lazy Civil 3D Command: INSPECT

kick it on CadKicks.com

I like using the INSPECT (or AECINSPECT) command in Civil 3D 2008 instead of Express Tools XLIST.

With the INSPECT command you just hover over entities and it tells you all kinds of useful information quickly.

Hmmm… Are you using AutoCAD Civil 3D?

I found that the command is only available in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008 (not plain AutoCAD 2008) but a friend told me that it is in plain AutoCAD 2009. I don’t have AutoCAD 2009 yet so I can’t say for sure though.

Josh….yes I am using both C3D 2008 and 2009. Every time I type in inspect or aec inspect, I get the unknown command. I even tried it in ACAD 2009 to no avail?

That is strange. I’m not sure why it wouldn’t work for you. Autodesk says the INSPECT command works…
